Romania: Two avalanches reported in the Făgăraș Mountains
Two large avalanches occurred during the night in the Făgăraș Mountains, in Romania at over 2,000 meters altitude. A cottage and several parked cars were hit by snow, reports Agerpres.
No casualties were recorded. Local authorities advise tourists not to leave the area. Firefighters are moving to the scene with a multi-functional snowblower, a qualified first aid SMURD ambulance, a vehicle for transporting people and multiple victims, two first-aid vehicles and two minibuses, informs the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations ( ISU) Arges.
According to the same source, rescue workers, gendarmes and employees of the National Roads Department also participate in the intervention.
