Moldovan poultry farms enter EU market
Moldova has granted two poultry farms the right to export eggs to the EU market, following their successful implementation of updated bird-raising practices, Agriculture Minister Vladimir Bolea announced Friday.
"Congratulations to these farmers! We wish them strong sales with excellent prices and high profits," Minister Bolea said in a video statement. "The Ministry remains committed to aligning national legislation with European requirements, enabling a growing number of producers to access the EU market."
Minister Bolea assured the public that the poultry farms, selected for EU export after meeting all eligibility criteria, maintain high-quality products for Moldovan citizens as well.
The first producer authorised to export eggs to the EU is a Moldovan-Dutch enterprise in the village of Bleșteni, Edineț district. The second company is based in Tîrnova, Dondușeni district, and holds a 4.7% market share in Moldova.
Furthermore, according to Minister Bolea, the first producer authorised to export chicken meat to the EU has already sent four truckloads of refrigerated meat to Europe in the past two weeks, where demand is steadily increasing.
