Vacancy announced for director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation. Maia Sandu signs the Decree
A five-member commission will organize the competition for the position of director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation. A decree to this effect was signed by President Maia Sandu on December 16. This commission includes journalists, representatives of civil society, deputies and representatives of the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
Under the Regulation, a person who holds the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, has a bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of work experience, and has an impeccable reputation, can apply for the position of director of the Center.
We remind you that Ana Revenco was appointed by the Parliament as director of this center in October last year, for a provisional term of one year. Her mandate expired on October 19.
The Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation, a legislative initiative of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, was created in July 2023. Its mission is to strengthen cooperation between institutions in the fight against disinformation, information manipulation and foreign interference, which pose a threat or may harm national security and jeopardize the achievement of national interests. 20 million lei would be allocated from the state budget for 2024 for the Center's activity.
