Mihai Eminescu Year 2025: Global celebrations and events
The government has given a positive opinion on the legislative initiative to declare 2025 as a year dedicated to celebrating the work and legacy of Mihai Eminescu.
As such, throughout the coming year, a series of cultural events and activities will be organized to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The program includes congresses and educational events, a special edition of the World Congress of Eminescologists, and a Summer School for young scholars.
Furthermore, throughout the year, new editions of Eminescu’s works will be published in Romanian and in 85 other languages into which the poet’s works have been translated. In addition, the postal services will print and sell stamps, postmarks, and envelopes to mark the 175th anniversary of Mihai Eminescu’s birth.
According to the proposal, the media will be encouraged to run an extensive campaign to highlight the events organized for the “Mihai Eminescu Year.”
