Electricity consumption to increase by 17% on Monday
Tomorrow, electricity consumption on the right bank of the Nistru is expected to increase by 17% compared to the previous day, although demand is 3% lower than a typical winter day, according to Energocom.
According to the source, consumption demand will primarily be met through imports, based on bilateral contracts and the Romanian stock exchange. In this context, Energocom announced that it has made the necessary capacity reservations at the border with Romania to ensure electricity supply for consumers.
Approximately 10% of energy needs for this day will be sourced from renewable resources, such as wind and solar energy. Additionally, the institution estimates that power plants in Chișinău and Bălți will produce less electricity due to the high temperatures expected during this period.
