Parliament Speaker explains why it was necessary to close the airspace of the Republic of Moldova
The airspace of the Republic of Moldova was closed due to a flying object that would belong to the Russian Federation. The Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, says that the information came from the Ukrainian colleagues. Later, the flying object was also detected by the officials of the Ministry of Defense.
We remind you that, yesterday, the airspace was closed for several hours. The Ministry of Defense announced that, above the city of Soroca, an unidentified, small object, similar to a weather balloon, was detected.
In an explanatory note, later issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, it was written that the decision was taken due to weather conditions and the impossibility of identifying the object and its flight path, but also in order to ensure the safety of citizens.
