Joe Biden confirms that he will run for a new presidential term

Joe Biden, the oldest American president in office, confirmed on Friday that he intends to announce his candidacy for the second presidential term in 2024, but not immediately, writes AFP, quoted by Agerpres.

"My intention is ... it has been from the beginning to run," the 80-year-old Democrat said during an interview with ABC News on Friday. His wife, Jill Biden, told The Associated Press earlier Friday that all that was left was for him to decide when and where to announce his campaign entry. Asked about this interview, Joe Biden responded with a joke without confirming or denying. However, he made it clear that he is in no rush. "There are, in the short term, too many other things that we need to finish before we start the campaign," he said of the reforms his administration is undertaking. Joe Biden would end his second term at the age of 86. A medical examination last week concluded he was "vigorous" and "fit" to carry out his duties.
