Eurovision

For the first time, viewers will be able to vote online for free for the representative of the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision 2023

For the first time, Teleradio-Moldova is offering viewers the opportunity to vote online for free for the contestant who will represent the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest 2023. The jury and the public will give the competitors a 50-50 score. The online voting system has been implemented and is an absolute novelty in the National Preselection. It is designed to facilitate broad public participation in deciding the winner of the national Eurovision stage and to increase the transparency of the whole process. To this end, the number of votes cast by viewers will be displayed on screen in real time. The implementation of this accessible, secure and innovative voting system is part of the Public Broadcaster's Digitisation Strategy.

The online voting will be available after the "start voting" announcement. In order to vote, viewers will go through three steps. They will access the link or scan the QR code displayed on the screen and register with their mobile phone number on the voting platform. People abroad can also register on the platform if they have a mobile phone number registered with operators in the Republic of Moldova.

The viewers will receive a confirmation code by SMS to the registered phone number. After entering the confirmation code on the platform, viewers will be able to choose their favourite song from the list of ten contestants of the National Final. From the same phone number only one contestant can vote once.

Once online voting is implemented, viewers will have more time to make their choice, with 35 minutes allowed for this purpose. The score will be awarded to the contestants 50% by the jury and 50% by the public. The jury members will vote by means of ballot papers containing the titles of the entries and the names of the participants. They will award between 1 and 12 points to the contestants. The entry with the highest score will be declared the winner.

The National Eurovision 2023 Final, which will determine the song that will represent the Republic of Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, will take place on Saturday 4 March, starting at 19:00, and will be broadcast live on TV Moldova 1, the websites www.eurovision.md and www.moldova1.md, the Eurovision Moldova Facebook page and the official YouTube page Teleradio Moldova.
