The Minister of Infrastructure, Andrei Spînu, will hold a press conference on the energy situation in the country. The event is scheduled for 12:30. On Saturday, Spînu announced that Moldovagaz will supply the Transnistrian region with 5.7 million cubic meters of gas per day, which is the entire volume supplied by Gazprom.
Instead, the Cuciurgan thermal power plant will cover 50% of the electricity needs, at a price lower than the market price. The electricity tariff will decrease by about 25%, the Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spînu justified the energy agreement with Tiraspol. According to him, the contract signed by the national operator Energocom with the company that manages the power plant on the left of the Nistru is a profitable one. The decision has only one goal - to keep the country connected to electricity, gas and heat at the lowest possible rate, Minister Spînu explained.
