MAEIE received a donation of IT equipment worth about 7.5 million lei
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has donated several IT equipment, worth about 7.5 million lei, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE), Minister Nicu Popescu said today during the equipment handover ceremony . The batch of donations consists of computers, telephones and headsets that will be used by representatives of the ministry's Call Center.
“As part of efforts to strengthen our Government's capacity to manage the refugee crisis, the Ministry requested and received this donation worth 7.5 million lei from UNHCR to upgrade our Call Centre. This donation allows us to further increase the technical capacity of the Call Center, to support the transition to a modern, strategic, diverse and secure communication of our consular network", noted the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Nicu Popescu also added that, since the start of the war in Ukraine by the Russian Federation, more and more citizens from the diaspora are requesting consular services. The call center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is one of the main tools used by the Government to maintain relations with diplomatic missions and consulates abroad.
