During her visit to the US, President Maia Sandu discussed energy security and anti-corruption reforms with US Vice President Kamala Harris.
"The United States strongly supports democracy, energy security and anti-corruption reforms in Moldova," US Vice President Kamala Harris said on her Twitter account.
The severe energy crisis that our country is going through and how the United States of America (USA) can help us overcome it was also addressed during the meeting of President Maia Sandu with the US Secretary of State for Energy, Jennifer Granholm.
During the discussion, the head of state mentioned that Russia's war against Ukraine had a major impact on our energy security, reflected in high energy prices, but also in limiting access to energy resources.
The two officials also discussed the help of about $80 million, announced by the USA for overcoming the crisis.
