A new contest for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy
The competition was launched for the selection of three candidates for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy on behalf of the Parliament. People can submit the file to participate in the contest until May 5.
Participants must have experience in the field of law and a notorious activity in the field of jurisprudence or in another relevant field of at least ten years, no criminal record, as well as no entries regarding the negative result of the professional integrity test. The competition will be held in three stages: the submission and admissibility of the files, the evaluation of the integrity of the candidates by the special committee (pre-vetting), the competition of the files and the interview.
According to the legislation, the Superior Council of the Magistracy is made up of 12 members. Six of them, who are not judges, are appointed by the Parliament, with the vote of three fifths of the elected deputies.
At last week's plenary meeting, three members of the CSM were appointed: Tatiana Ciaglic, Ion Guzun and Alexandru Postica.
