Six trucks with a load of 317.93 cubic meters of material goods are escorted by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations at the Leușeni border crossing point. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the batch includes hygiene kits and sets, medical supplies, blankets, pillows, sanitary mats and other necessary goods - all of which will reach the regions affected by the earthquake. The total value of the humanitarian lot is over eight million lei. We remind you that three devastating earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.8, 7.7 and 6.7 on the Richter scale, followed by dozens of aftershocks, occurred on February 6 and 7 this year in southeast and central Turkey. The earthquakes, which killed more than 50,000 people and caused major damage, were also strongly felt in neighboring countries, especially in Syria. The Republic of Moldova then stood in solidarity with Turkey. A USAR Moldova team started the international mission to help the Turkish people on February 6. During the implementation of the international mission, Moldovan rescuers managed to remove a three-year-old boy from the ruins alive and unharmed, after he had been in the ruins of a damaged building for more than four days. The Moldovan specialists also carried out evaluation works of the buildings and the recovery of the bodies, forming mixed groups with rescuers from Hungary, Mexico, the Netherlands and Turkey.
