The Energy Community confirms its support for the Republic of Moldova in the process of implementing environmental projects

The transition to green energy, the plan to reach the net-zero target in terms of emissions by 2030 and the harmonization of the legislation in the field with the legislation of the European Union were the main topics of discussion addressed by the Minister of the Environment, Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov with the director deputy of the Energy Community Secretariat, Dirk Buschle, and head of the local office, Denis Tumuruc. During the meeting, the Secretariat of the Energy Community confirmed its support for the Republic of Moldova.

"The Republic of Moldova relies a lot on the support of the Energy Community to be able to face the challenges in this sector. The adaptation of renewable energy legislation and the transition to the green economy is an imminent necessity. "Greening the economy" is a new growth factor for the Republic of Moldova", said the Minister of the Environment, Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov. For his part, Dirk Buschle appreciated the "close cooperation" between the Ministry of the Environment and the Secretariat of the Energy Community, noting that in the next period the parties will continue their efforts to achieve the planned results. At the same time, he assured that the Energy Community will continue to provide the necessary technical and institutional support for the implementation of environmental projects. The Energy Community is an international organization founded in 2005. It brings together EU member countries and states such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine, with the aim of creating an integrated market of pan-European energy.
