Domnica Manole is leaving as head of the Constitutional Court. Who is the new President of the CC
The three-year term for which Domnica Manole was elected as President of the CC expired on 23 April this year. Therefore, in the plenary session of the Constitutional Court, convened on 25 April 2023, the new president of the Court was elected Judge Nicolae Rosca, informs the Constitutional Court.
Elena Gorodișteanu, head of the external relations section of the Constitutional Court, told Radio Moldova that Domnica Manole will continue her work at the Constitutional Court as a judge until the end of her mandate. Domnica Manole was appointed as a judge of the CC by parliamentary decision on 16 August 2019. According to the Constitution, the term of office of a Constitutional Court judge is six years.
The President-elect of the Constitutional Court, Nicolae Roșca, was appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court, taking office on 16 August 2019, after being sworn in.
Nicolae Rosca has worked at the Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova, holding consecutively the teaching positions of lecturer, senior lecturer, university lecturer, also held the position of head of department / head of the Department of Private Law.
He holds the title of Doctor of Law and the scientific-teaching rank of university lecturer. He was also a member of the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Moldova, President of the Disciplinary College of Judges, member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Supreme Court of Justice, and held other relevant positions.
Nicolae Rosca is author and co-author of more than 75 didactic and scientific publications, including textbooks, monographs, commentaries on laws.
Nicolae Rosca was elected in 2016 as a member of the Permanent Bureau of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and subsequently ran on the PAS list in the February 2019 parliamentary elections.
In the declaration of wealth submitted to the CEC in the 2019 election campaign, Rosca declared a salary of 263 032 lei for 2017 - 2018, an intracultural land and two apartments, one acquired in 1995 and another in 2000, which he owns with other people. Nicolae Rosca also owns a Toyota Carolla car, manufactured and purchased in 2010, which cost him 13 thousand euros.
