Searches at the Balti Internal Customs Post as part of corruption cases: Customs brokers and economic agents are targeted

CNA conducts more than 20 searches at the Balti Internal Customs Post. They are carried out in corruption cases. The information was confirmed for Radio Moldova by the press officer of CNA, Angela Starinschi.

"The file targets employees of the Balti Internal Customs Post, customs brokers and economic agents. Their involvement in systemic corruption schemes is being investigated when issuing the documents related to the customs clearance procedure for imported goods", said Angela Starinschi.

On the other hand, the Customs Service announced that the Directorate of Integrity and Supervision is providing all support in the investigation of the case.

"The results of the searches will be communicated by the relevant institutions. The management of the Customs Service vehemently condemns and does not tolerate corruption acts within the institution", said the spokeswoman of the Customs Service, Tatiana Șompol.
