Moldovan wrestler Rostislav Covali wins bronze at World championships
Moldovan Greco-Roman wrestler Rostislav Covali won the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships "under 20" in Amann, Jordan.
Covali, who competed in the up to 97 kg weight category, defeated Turkey's Muhittin Helvaci, Turkmen Yusup Belliyev, and Venezuela's Juan Blanco. He was defeated in the semi-finals by Gor Aivazian of Georgia, but won the small final against Armenian Arșak Gegamyan.
Covali's medal is the third won by Moldovan wrestlers at the World Junior Championships. Alexandru Solovei won the silver medal in the weight category up to 77 kg, and Eugeniu Mihalcean climbed to the third step of the podium in the 86 kg category.
The Moldovan wrestlers ended the World Junior Championships with a total of three medals.
