National Cyber Security Agency will be set up in the Republic of Moldova

The National Cyber Security Agency will be created in the Republic of Moldova. The institution will have the mission of implementing state policies in the field of cyber security, in order to ensure a high level of security of the networks and IT systems of service providers. The Cabinet of Ministers approved a decision in this regard, during the Government meeting.

"The institution will be responsible for the protection of critical information infrastructure, the identification and record of service providers, the implementation of a mandatory mechanism for reporting cyber incidents, but also for the supervision and state control of compliance by service providers with the normative framework in the field of cyber security ", informs the Executive in a press release.

A national cyber incident response team will also be formed within the Agency and a national single point of contact will be established. It will ensure the interaction of national public authorities and institutions with similar authorities in other states.

The Agency will enable to implement strategies and policies that strengthen national security and contribute to increasing the level of awareness and education of citizens in the field of cyber security.
