Moldovagaz sent to ANRE the request regarding the reduction of natural gas tariffs
JSC "Moldovagaz" sent to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) the approach to review the tariff for the supply of natural gas to final consumers at regulated prices in 2024. According to the calculation project, the weighted average tariff for the supply of natural gas is proposed to be reduced up to 13,347 lei for a thousand cubic meters or by 12.5%.
According to a press release from Moldovagaz, the main factors that determined the need to revise the tariffs are the significant reduction in purchase prices for natural gas on the Dutch FTT spot, as well as a pronounced decrease in the correction component of the supplier's regulated income (tariff deviations) for last year.
According to the approach, at the exit points from the gas transport networks, if the new tariff is applied from January 1, 2024, it should be 10,800 lei per thousand cubic meters or 20.1% less than the current one .
At the same time, at the exit points from the high-pressure gas distribution networks, it is proposed to set it at the level of 10,933 lei for one thousand cubic meters, with a 20% discount, at medium pressure - 12,084 lei for one thousand of cubic meters, or 16% less, and in the case of low pressure networks, to which all household consumers and a part of non-household consumers are connected – 16,062 lei per thousand cubic meters, with a decrease of 4 %.
"We remind that the moderate reduction in the tariff for consumers connected to low pressure networks is due to the change in the structure of consumption at different pressure levels, the increase in the length of low pressure networks, as well as the approval of new tariffs for the distribution of natural gas from July 8, 2023", informs SA "Moldovagaz".
According to the law, ANRE has 90 days to review and to approve new tariffs.
Currently, the tariff for domestic consumers is 18.06 bani per cubic meter, including VAT. We remind you that the Republic of Moldova began to buy natural gas in advance and store it in warehouses in Romania and Ukraine, after Russia reduced the volume of deliveries to our country in October 2022.
