Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire at tank no. 2 in the Giurgiulești Free International Port

Firefighters from the south of the country this night succeeded in locating the fire at tank no. 2 loaded with sunflower seed, announces the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. The heavy metal structure collapsed in a controlled manner at 01:29.

As a result of the specialists' damage to the element at the bottom of the tank, the construction collapsed, and the firefighters managed to reach the source and put out the open flames.

Starting on January 20, IGSU employees ensured fire safety around the scrap tanks in the Giurgiulesti Free International Port, after the second silo was also on fire. Currently, the firemen are acting for the total liquidation of the fire and are carrying out fire protection at the objective.

For locating and extinguishing the fire in the Giurgiulești International Free Port, 13 employees with 5 emergency vehicles are working. The mission of IGSU employees will continue until all risks to the infrastructure in the area are removed.
