Warring Sides Cooperate: Ukraine, Russia Exchange Prisoners
In a rare display of cooperation since the conflict began, Ukraine and Russia conducted another prisoner exchange, transferring 75 prisoners of war from each side.
The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) posted a video of the exchange on its website on Friday, according to Ukrinform.
"This exchange is the result of the efforts of the Joint Coordinating Center for the Search and Release of Prisoners of War, which implemented the decision of the General Coordinator for the Treatment of Prisoners of War," a report by the Center stated. "The life of every Ukrainian citizen is of paramount importance!"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Friday that the exchange included four Ukrainian civilians, while the remaining prisoners were members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, National Guard, and Border Service. Approximately 3,200 Ukrainians have already been repatriated from Russian captivity.
