Ukraine Receives New Patriot System from Germany for Defense

Ukraine has received an additional Patriot air defence system from Germany. The announcement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who stated that this bolsters Ukraine's air defence against Russian attacks.

Currently, Ukraine possesses at least four Patriot systems.

“We can affirm that our air defence has been strengthened. The German Patriot system has arrived in Ukraine, and I would like to express my gratitude to Germany and the United States for this development. This will enable us to achieve more in the air. Although much remains to be done and guaranteed defence cannot be promised, this donation represents an enhancement of Ukraine’s capabilities,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky has consistently emphasised in recent weeks the necessity for additional air defence systems, indicating a need for between 6 and 25 Patriot systems.
