39 new school buses will be purchased this year
This year, the Ministry of Education and Research intends to purchase 39 school buses. This was announced by Minister Dan Perciun on his Facebook page. He said that a tender was launched to this effect.
"We are currently in the procurement process. This year, we are purchasing buses that accommodate both 17 and up to 35 passengers. We hope to receive competitive, high-quality offers, as we did last year, and to provide these buses to schools by the beginning of the school year," said Dan Perciun.
It is important to note that last year, 69 school buses were purchased with the support of the Romanian Government and distributed across several districts in the country. Romania has a history of assisting educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova. In 2017, the Romanian Government donated 95 minibuses for student transportation, following another donation of 100 school transport units made to our country in 2014.
