Energocom forecasts lower electricity consumption for January 19
On Sunday, January 19, electricity consumption is forecast to be about 10% lower compared to today.
Energocom announces that it has fully reserved the necessary commercial capacity at the border with Romania to supplement domestic production with imports.
In addition to the electricity generated by local heating plants and renewable energy installations, the rest of the demand will be covered by imports, based on bilateral contracts or on the exchange.
According to the Government Crisis Cell, this week, electricity consumption has increased significantly, exceeding forecast plans for two days in a row. The cooling weather and citizens returning to normal work are the main reasons for this increase. Although this situation does not involve immediate risks for tariffs or food, the authorities urge the population to save electricity, especially during peak hours.
