Gazprom skips February gas reservations on Trans-Balkan pipeline
Gazprom did not reserve capacity on Monday, January 20, for transporting natural gas via the Trans-Balkan pipeline to the Transnistrian region for February, according to ENTSO-G calendar data.
As per regulations, monthly capacity reservation auctions are held on the third Monday of each month, the Ministry of Energy announced.
The results indicate the following:
- At the Turkey-Bulgaria border, about 3.1 million m³/day were reserved from a total capacity of 6.1 million m³/day.
- At the Bulgaria-Romania border, about 0.7 million m³/day were reserved from a total capacity of 9.7 million m³/day.
- At the Romania-Ukraine border (Isaccea-Orlovka), no reservations were made, despite 11.5 million m³/day being offered.
- At the Romania-Moldova border (the Iași-Chișinău pipeline), 5 million m³/day were reserved from the 6.1 million m³/day offered at auction.
According to authorities in countries traversed by the Vertical Corridor, these reservations were made by international traders. Capacity reservations can also be made daily, but these will incur higher costs.
