CSE decision: higher compensation for 40 thousand households

More than 40 thousand households out of the 695 thousand registered for aid will receive higher compensation when paying their bills, and the degree of vulnerability that was initially assigned to them will be recalculated. The decision was approved during the meeting of the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE).

Of the 695 thousand applications submitted on the compensatii.gov.md platform in November, 80% of households received a very high degree of vulnerability, they will be compensated up to 59% of the amount of the natural gas bill and around 50% of the central heating bill.

Another 11% of applicants were assigned high vulnerability, 5% of applicants received medium vulnerability, and another 3% low vulnerability. Only 1% of the number of consumers registered on the compensatii.gov.md portal were classified as non-vulnerable and will not benefit from compensation, according to a Government statement.

TRM.MD recalls that citizens can register on the compensatii.gov.md platform until March inclusive. People who have failed to register can continue to do so, with compensation for these consumers to be granted from the month following the month in which they registered. For the month of November, unregistered consumers will benefit from average compensations, and starting from January, from low compensations.

For the energy consumption compensation program, the Government has allocated 5 billion lei, an amount two and a half times higher compared to 2021.
