Maia Sandu convenes the Supreme Security Council, after the General Assembly of Judges postponed the appointment of CSM members

"I understand that the judges still decided to block the cleansing of the judiciary and continue to put obstacles in the restoration of justice in Moldova. I announce that I will convene for Monday, at 2:00 p.m., the Supreme Security Council in connection with the emergency situation in the judiciary", reads President Maia Sandu's message.

We remind that, on Friday, March 17, the judges convened at the General Assembly, after a break of four years. The participants in the meeting decided to interrupt the meeting and postpone the examination of the subject regarding the election of the members of the Superior Council of Magistracy from among the judges. It is to be examined on April 28, after the Supreme Court of Justice will rule on the appeals filed by the candidates who did not pass the assessment within the Pre-Vetting Commission.
