Swedish Parliament supports Moldova's European agenda
The Swedish Parliament is to provide political support for Moldova's European integration agenda, particularly during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said so after meeting his Swedish counterpart Andreas Norlén, according to a press release issued by the Chisinau legislature.
UNDP Project: Grants of up to $4,400 received by 120 businesswomen from Moldova
A total of 120 businesswomen from the Republic of Moldova benefited last year from grants worth up to $4,400 from the Government of Sweden. The money was provided as part of the project "Climate Resilient Communities through Women's Empowerment". Among the beneficiaries is Maria Josan from the village of Ciorești, Nisporeni district, who has been growing decorative plants in a greenhouse for 11 years. She says her love of nature has empowered her to develop her business, and the fact that her husband supports her in everything she does motivates her not to give up.
Business Barometer: Moldovan entrepreneurs confronted many challenges in 2022
Moldovan entrepreneurs faced various challenges in 2022, both because of the pandemic and the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine. Companies in industry, agriculture and services had a harder time. By contrast, a better situation was seen in trade and construction. These findings are contained in the Business Barometer, conducted by the sociological research company "Date Inteligente" and released today by the Association of Romanian Investors in Moldova.
