The statements made by French President Emmanuel Macron from various forums on the possible enlargement of the European Union in France also mean concrete actions to analyse the feasibility of partners for this process. On the one hand, it is a question of the readiness of countries with candidate status, such as those in the Balkans, but also Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, and on the other, of the ability to keep the European institutions functional. In July, Jean-Louis Bourlanges, chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee, presented an extensive report on this issue to the French National Assembly.
